Hunter Davis is cleaning out his closets again. He is running a contest for 7 days or 5000 entries and giving away all of the items in the picture up above in bundles. I don’t envy having to manually parse through 5000 emails… beats having a garage sale I guess. I shamelessly entered but I couldn’t really make up my mind which bundle I would most like to acquire. The half-an-eee and diji look pretty cool but beggars can’t be choosers.

and i’d been checking all week in case he rolled the die early as there were a few bundles i had entered for. Of course as per normal I didn’t win anything but everyone I told about it or know did. But that’s always the way. In the last 45 years I have won a grand total of one competition and that one was one that required alot of skill as it required counting the number of peas in a jar so not as if the fates could conspire against me as you are either right or wrong and when you get the exact number even the fates can’t screw you 
I certainly hope you earned more than a jar full of peas for your effort… I’ve been on a lucky streak lately. I won an iPod shuffle from Parallels(the virtualization guys) at Linux Fest NW the other week.
You should scoot down to Radio Shack though and “win” yourself one of those Parallax RFID modules for $10 that they were talking about on hack-a-day. I snagged one this morning and now I need to figure out what to do with that as well. Two token authentication for the Zipit maybe?
yes i was planning on running up (cycling) to my nearest radioshack on my way to the library later today. I might have a use for it although it isn’t the right type of rfid but it would work as a proof of concept especially as it looks like it would fit quite well on the zipit base of lid.
for the guessing the number of peas thing I won a note book, pencil and years membership to the RSPB. — I’m really not that lucky, i used to go to bingo (yeah i know but she liked bingo and it was spending time with her) with the wife and in the course of 3 years I won a grand total of $11.64 and $1.64 was actually found on the floor
— even when I er manipulate (ok cheat) the chances i don’t win — very good at picking horses though.
