My dosbox build never did properly complete but you can install open embedded on a desktop or laptop and build it on there. See my other post on how to install OE. http://www.notanon.com/zipit/building-openembedded-for-the-zipit-z2/2010/07/06/

Just out of curiosity since I didn't see it listed anywhere else, did that Dosbox build ever complete and if so did it even work? This was using the compiling abilities directly on the Zipit wasn't it?

My Zipit is knee deep in a 14 hour dosbox build at the moment so I don't want to screw with it too much. I'll ping you on IRC when it's done and we can sort it out. I suspect it's something minor.

What exactly is failing? there really isn't much in the script that can go wrong other then the parsing of strings and the paths. Although ubuntu does use dash by default not ash or bash so if the #! line is missing that might be it too. I actually suspect it'll be something like sed/gawk/grep not working quite the same in stock, debian and ubuntu
